Master P discusses No Limit Records and personal business lessons

Hip-Hop icon Master P appeared on the Rickey Smiley podcast to discuss his career, the evolution of No Limit Records, and his personal experiences with fame and entrepreneurship.

Master P detailed his early beginnings in Richmond, California, where he opened a record store at age 19. He noted that investing $25,000 to consult with Michael Jackson’s former attorney allowed him to implement a historic 85/15 business deal.

Reflecting on his personal life, Master P shared that he previously ‘lost himself’ by attempting to provide for too many friends and family members. He noted that he has since become more selective, stating that being a leader sometimes requires making difficult decisions, such as firing family members to protect a business.

Additionally, he provided an update on his brother, C-Murder, who is currently serving a life sentence. Master P expressed his belief in his brother's innocence and stated that he continues to fight the case.
