Mastercard launches digital and cybersecurity initiatives for Mexican MSMEs

Mastercard has announced new initiatives in Mexico aimed at driving financial inclusion, digitalization, and cybersecurity for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). During the Mastercard Mexico Summit 2026 in Mexico City, the company outlined a strategy to directly reach one million MSMEs and strengthen the digital resilience of an additional 500,000 businesses.

Key programs include an expansion of the Mastercard Avance MiPyME initiative, developed with the support of Fundación Capital, which focuses on digital payment adoption and financial education. Additionally, the company is launching PyMEs Ciberseguras in collaboration with the Mexican Association of Information Technology Industry (AMITI). This platform is designed to help 500,000 businesses identify vulnerabilities and improve digital protection mechanisms to ensure operational continuity.
