Masters of the Universe franchise reveals unused Orko design and announces new comic collection

After the under‑performing 2026 live‑action Masters of the Universe film, concept artist Constantin Sekeris released early production artwork showing an almost unrecognizable redesign for the fan‑favorite character Orko. The unused design portrayed Orko as leaner and lemur‑like, with his face fully visible, a stark contrast to his classic look from the 1980s animated series. The brief post‑credits cameo of Orko in the film sparked discussion among fans about the redesign and the likelihood of a sequel.

In parallel, Dark Horse Comics announced a new hardcover collection titled Masters of the Universe: Revolution (Library Edition). Slated for release on 3 November 2026, the 384‑page volume – priced at $59.99 – compiles previously untold stories from Prince Adam’s first year as He‑Man, as well as new tales featuring characters such as Skeletor, Hordak and Andra. The project involves writers including Kevin Smith and Tim Sheridan and artists such as Mindy Lee and Adriana Melo, aiming to expand the franchise’s mythology beyond the recent film.
