Mata do Bussaco Foundation reports record August results
The Mata do Bussaco Foundation has reported its best operational, tourist, and financial results in its 17-year history, following a record-breaking month in August.
According to data released by the Foundation, August revenue reached 175,000 euros, a significant increase from the approximately 135,000 euros recorded in August 2025. This represents a 25% increase compared to the same period last year and a 20% rise over the previous best year for the institution.
Visitor metrics also showed growth. Vehicle entries to the site rose to 8,750, up from 7,310 in the previous year. Additionally, attendance at the Convento de Santa Cruz do Bussaco increased to 4,830 visitors, compared to 3,660 in August 2025. The Foundation stated these results align with its strategy to position the National Monument as a key destination for nature and wellness tourism.
