Matamoros advances infrastructure and economic development goals

Matamoros is undergoing significant administrative and economic developments. Mayor Beto Granados recently delivered his second government report at the Auditorio Mundo Nuevo, highlighting progress in infrastructure, public services, and citizen attention. The event was attended by Tamaulipas Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya, signaling strong coordination between municipal and state governments to support strategic projects in the region.

Simultaneously, a legislative proposal has been presented to the Tamaulipas Congress to designate the Port of Matamoros as an Economic Development Pole for Wellbeing. Introduced by Deputy Isidro Jesús Vargas Fernández, the initiative aims to leverage the city's strategic border location near the United States and its existing road infrastructure to boost industrial, commercial, and energy sectors. The proposal calls for coordination between the state Secretariat of Economy, the municipal government, and federal authorities to facilitate this growth.
