Matamoros girl airlifted to Ciudad Victoria after serious accident
A 10-year-old girl named Stephanie was airlifted from Matamoros to Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas, following a serious accident on the Sendero Nacional highway. The girl was walking with her grandmother when she was struck by a white van. The impact reportedly projected her into a thicket of bushes, where she remained for approximately one hour before being located.
Medical professionals reported that the child sustained severe injuries, including damage to four vertebrae and her lungs. Due to the complexity of her condition, doctors at the Hospital General Dr. Alfredo Pumarejo requested a transfer to a third-level specialized facility.
State Civil Protection conducted the emergency medical flight, landing the patient in Ciudad Victoria where she was received by paramedics from the Centro Regulador de Urgencias Médicas (CRUM). She has been admitted to the Hospital Regional de Alta Especialidad for specialized treatment. This marks the second medical airlift conducted by the state's Civil Protection in 48 hours.
