Matamoros municipality expands free premarital counseling and civil‑registry services

The municipal government of Matamoros, Tamaulipas, announced a series of free premarital counseling sessions for couples during August. The talks will be offered both in‑person and virtually, covering communication, respect, cohabitation and dialogue to help couples prepare for marriage. Registration for the sessions is available by phone or at the municipal office on Abasolo Street.

Separately, the First Office of the Civil Registry in Matamoros, led by director Omar Masso Quintana, is implementing procedural changes aimed at speeding up services and restoring public confidence. The office cited past bureaucratic delays and is now focusing on faster, more courteous assistance for citizens completing civil procedures.
