Matamoros officials advance infrastructure and economic development

Matamoros Mayor Alberto Granados Fávila has announced several infrastructure and economic development initiatives for the municipality. During a session of the Matamoros Water and Drainage Board (JAD), officials reported significant progress in sewage rehabilitation, including the repair of over 300 collapsed sections and 411 maintenance actions on drainage networks. Additionally, the JAD has installed more than 5,000 meters and reported increased revenue through community outreach and new payment modules.

In a separate effort to bolster the local economy, Mayor Granados presided over the formal installation of Alianza Matamoros. This collaborative space brings together public, industrial, educational, union, and social sectors to drive regional growth. The alliance aims to leverage Matamoros’s strategic location and industrial capacity to attract investment and establish the city as a national hub for logistics, tourism, and commerce.
