Matanzas hosts national gala for José Martí Art Instructors Brigade
The José White Concert Hall in Matanzas served as the venue for a national artistic gala celebrating the 22nd anniversary of the José Martí Art Instructors Brigade (BJM). The event, titled ‘Donde nace el arte, crece el futuro’, featured various musical and dance performances, including the Cantus Lucis choir and the Aché dance project.
During the ceremony, the BJM recognized the Matanzas brigade for hosting the event and honored the Hermanos Saíz Association for its 40th anniversary. National BJM President Carlos Alberto Castillo Mojena emphasized the organization's mission, stating that “art is not a privilege of the few, but a right for all.”
High-ranking officials attended the celebration, including the Minister of Education, Dr. Naima Ariante Trujillo Barreto, and representatives from the National Union of Culture Workers and the Young Communist League (UJC). The proceedings also included a floral offering to honor the national hero José Martí.
