Mataró hosts forum on social economy and industrial competitiveness

The Mataró Capital of the Social Economy 2026 initiative, under the theme “Reducing inequalities, creating the future,” is organizing a conference in collaboration with ÀURIA. The event aims to explore the role of the social economy in developing a purposeful industrial model and a more inclusive labor market.

Participants, including public administration representatives and business leaders, will analyze how social economy industrial companies, special employment centers, and integration companies can combine competitiveness with social cohesion. Discussions will also address the challenges posed by ecological, digital, and social transitions, as well as the impact of public policies and responsible procurement.

The program includes sectoral roundtables and institutional dialogue to identify common challenges and collaboration opportunities. The event will conclude with a technical visit to the ABACUS Logistics Center to observe a business model that integrates economic activity with social commitment.
