Matías Almeyda criticizes Liga MX for not pausing during FIFA window

Monterrey manager Matías Almeyda has criticized Liga MX for not pausing the league schedule during the current FIFA international window. Almeyda stated that the championship should have been suspended because many clubs are losing key players to their national teams.

For Monterrey, the upcoming Matchday 10 fixture against Atlante will be played without Orbelín Pineda and Víctor Guzmán, both of whom have been called up to the Mexican national team. While Almeyda expressed pride in his players' individual and collective growth through national team call-ups, he noted that their absence creates significant challenges for the club.

Despite the scheduling concerns, Almeyda highlighted the high level of competition within the Mexican league, noting that the parity between teams makes the championship unpredictable and attractive.
