Monterrey faces Chivas in high-stakes Liga MX matchup

Monterrey will host Chivas de Guadalajara this Saturday at the Estadio BBVA for a crucial Jornada 14 match in the Apertura 2026 tournament. The game features a significant reunion as Monterrey manager Matías Almeyda faces the club where he won five titles between 2015 and 2018.

Chivas enters the match as the tournament sub-leader with 23 points, seeking to maintain their strong away record. While manager Gabriel Milito welcomes the return of midfielder Omar Govea, the squad remains hampered by several injuries, including Miguel Gómez, José Castillo, Luis Romo, Brian Gutiérrez, and Ángel Sepúlveda.

Montrerrey currently sits in seventh place with 20 points, following a recent 4-1 victory over Puebla. The Rayados aim to use their home-field advantage to climb the standings and secure a direct spot in the Liguilla. The match is scheduled for 19:00 local time.
