Matías López announces legal action against Chilevisión

Matías López, brother of Chilean entrepreneur Coté López, has announced intentions to take legal action against the television network Chilevisión (CHV) following a confrontation in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

The dispute arose after a CHV journalistic team approached the family during their vacation. A reporter from the program ‘Plan Perfecto’, Gabriela López, claimed that the family became angry, confiscated a cameraman’s phone, and deleted images. She further alleged that one of the brothers ordered another to smash the device on the ground.

Matías López has denied these allegations, stating that while he took the phone to prevent the filming of his minor children, he did not break it and returned it to the staff. He accused the crew of invading his family's privacy at the airport and continuing to follow them to their hotel to record them and their children, describing the behavior as “pathetic” and “ridiculous.”
