Matías Morla offers 150 million pesos to Maradona heirs to suspend fraud trial

Matías Morla, the former legal representative of Diego Maradona, has offered 150 million Argentine pesos to the football legend's heirs to suspend his trial. Morla is facing charges of fraudulent administration regarding the management of various trademarks associated with Maradona's name, including ‘Maradona’, ‘Diego Maradona’, and ‘La mano de dios’.

Through his legal team, Morla proposed paying the amount in six monthly installments and performing community service as part of a probation request (suspensión de juicio a prueba). The legal proceedings follow allegations that Morla used allegedly falsified powers of attorney to secure rights to 21 different brands linked to the late athlete.

Other defendants in the case, including Maradona's former assistant Maximiliano Pomargo, have also made similar proposals. The offer has met with strong opposition from Maradona's daughters, Dalma and Gianinna, who expressed their disbelief and disapproval of the proposal on social media.
