Matías Orozco joins CD Castellón on loan from Brighton

Colombian midfielder Matías Orozco has joined CD Castellón on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion. The 18-year-old, who previously played for Deportivo Cali, is set to remain with the Spanish club until June 30, 2027.

Brighton secured the player through a deal involving 4.8 million euros for 85% of his sporting rights. The English Premier League club identified Orozco as an exciting talent and intends to use the loan period to facilitate his professional development.

Orozco has experience playing for the Colombian national youth teams, including the U-19 and U-21 squads, and has served as captain for the U-20 side. His move to Europe follows a successful period in Colombia, where he appeared in 28 matches for Deportivo Cali.
