Matías Serrano deported from U.S. following Miami drug investigation
Matías Serrano, an Argentine national from Tucumán, has been deported from the United States following his detention during ‘Operation Pantera Rosa,’ a major anti-drug investigation in Miami-Dade.
While the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) declined to file criminal charges against Serrano because no illegal substances or weapons were found in his possession, authorities discovered he had been residing in the U.S. irregularly since approximately 2019 after exceeding his visa period. Consequently, he was transferred to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for immediate expulsion.
The broader investigation, which began in April, targeted a network allegedly using WhatsApp groups to coordinate the sale of cocaine, marijuana, tusi, and MDMA. Law enforcement reported the seizure of over 32 kilograms of illegal substances, cash, and a high-end vehicle. Other individuals detained in the operation include César Suppa, Santiago Luján, and Jhon Ramírez.
