River Plate players Fabricio Bustos and Matías Viña depart for Brazil

River Plate players Fabricio Bustos and Matías Viña are departing the Argentine club to continue their careers in Brazil. Both players had recently been training separately from the main squad.

Fabricio Bustos has rescinded his contract with River Plate, which was originally set to expire in December 2027. The 30-year-old defender is traveling to join Coritiba. Bustos joined River in mid-2024 from Internacional for approximately five million dollars and made 53 official appearances.

Matías Viña will join Cruzeiro on loan until December. To facilitate the move, Viña rescinded his current loan agreement with River Plate. His parent club, Flamengo, negotiated the new loan deal with Cruzeiro. Viña’s tenure at River included 14 appearances, and his departure follows a period where he was no longer a priority for the team's technical staff.
