Matchbox Shots announces new Sriram Raghavan thriller

Mumbai-based production house Matchbox Shots has announced a new slate of projects, headlined by a new thriller from filmmaker Sriram Raghavan. The upcoming project is expected to follow the dark, twist-heavy style of Raghavan’s cult classic, ‘Johnny Gaddaar’, coinciding with the film’s 20th anniversary in 2027.

The announcement follows the global success of the Matchbox Shots war series ‘Operation Safed Sagar’ on Netflix, which has reached the No. 2 spot worldwide among non-English titles and No. 1 in India. This marks the company’s second consecutive series to perform highly on global charts, following ‘IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack’.

Matchbox Shots, founded by Sanjay Routray, has evolved from producing low-budget hits like ‘Andhadhun’ to managing large-scale productions with budgets exceeding Rs 200 crore. The company continues to develop diverse content across theatrical and streaming platforms, with upcoming projects involving filmmakers such as Hansal Mehta and Vasan Bala.
