Mate Pavić advances while Nikola Mektić exits Cincinnati doubles

Croatian tennis players Mate Pavić and Nikola Mektić saw mixed results at the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Cincinnati.

Mate Pavić, partnering with Salvadoran Marcelo Arevalo, advanced to the round of 16. The third seeds secured a victory over the Russian duo of Karen Khachanov and Andrey Rublev with a score of 2-6, 7-6(2), 10-3. Pavić and Arevalo are scheduled to face the French pair Arribage and Olivetti in their next match.

In contrast, Nikola Mektić and his partner Austin Krajicek were eliminated in the round of 16. They lost to the second seeds, Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos, in a three-set match with a final score of 6-3, 5-7, 10-4.
