Matej Giľák transfers from Spišská Nová Ves to HC Prešov

Slovak hockey player Matej Giľák is transferring from Spišská Nová Ves to HC Prešov for the upcoming Tipsport liga season. The 31-year-old forward, who has 372 regular-season appearances in the top Slovak division, decided to move to ensure more consistent playing time.

Spišská Nová Ves general manager Richard Rapáč noted that Giľák did not have a guaranteed spot in the top three lines for the upcoming season. Giľák expressed that the move to Prešov, where he previously played 20 games and recorded 11 points during a loan spell, was the best decision for his career development.
