Kocaelispor signs Croatian defender Matej Maglica

Kocaelispor has officially completed the transfer of Croatian defender Matej Maglica from the German club SV Darmstadt 98. The 27-year-old center-back has signed a contract for two years, with an additional one-year option held by the Turkish club.

Kocaelispor will pay a fixed transfer fee of 400,000 Euros to Darmstadt 98, payable in four equal installments. Maglica, a 198cm tall left-footed defender, joins the squad following a strong period in Germany where he recorded eight goals in 33 appearances.

Maglica joins fellow Croatian player Bruno Petković at Kocaelispor. The transfer follows interest from other clubs, including 1. FC Kaiserslautern and Dinamo Zagreb, but the move to Turkey was finalized after Maglica expressed a desire to leave Darmstadt.
