Mateo Kovacic linked to potential return to Inter Milan

Inter Milan is reportedly evaluating the possibility of bringing midfielder Mateo Kovacic back to the club. The 32-year-old Croatian international, who played for Inter between 2013 and 2015, is currently with Manchester City and has not yet signaled a contract renewal.

Kovacic is viewed as a high-quality technical solution who can manage pressure and provide tactical versatility in midfield. His potential arrival as a free agent could allow the club to allocate funds to other areas of the squad. The move is being considered as a way to provide experienced leadership, potentially filling a void left by departing players like Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

While his age and salary may fall outside standard parameters set by the club's owners, Oaktree, there is precedent for exceptions regarding high-profile players. The transfer remains a market rumor that may be monitored more closely in the coming months.
