Mateo Vacenovski preserves 1976 Fiat Zastava as family heirloom

Mateo Vacenovski, a 23-year-old from Vrbovca, maintains a 1976 Fiat Zastava 1300 as a cherished family heirloom. Inherited from his grandfather, who once used the same model as an official vehicle, the car serves as a significant sentimental connection to his late relative.

The vehicle underwent a rigorous two-year restoration process after being located in Zagreb. A major challenge during the restoration was sourcing original parts, which required acquiring components from Serbia.

Despite the car's high fuel consumption and its use primarily for short drives around Vrbovca, Vacenovski refuses to sell the vehicle, stating it is priceless and holds a value that cannot be measured in money.
