Matera allocates 100,000 euros for video surveillance expansion

The municipality of Matera has allocated 100,000 euros to enhance its video surveillance system. The investment is funded through restricted surplus resources related to Article 208 of the Highway Code.

Local councilors Marco Bigherati and Francesco Lisurici of Futuro Nazionale expressed support for the measure, noting that the expansion aims to strengthen territorial control and improve public safety. The initiative is intended to support the work of the local police and law enforcement agencies in preventing crime and responding to recent incidents in the city.

The planned interventions will target various areas, including the city center, outlying villages, and suburbs. Specific emphasis will be placed on public parking areas, particularly those with insufficient lighting or inadequate camera coverage.
