Matera City Council to debate administration stability

The Matera City Council has scheduled an extraordinary session for September 21, 2026, to address the political and programmatic situation of the current administration. The meeting follows an urgent request from several councilors regarding the stability of the majority led by Mayor Antonio Nicoletti.

Mayor Nicoletti has initiated political discussions with opposition leaders to explore expanding the governing majority's base. While the Mayor maintains he currently holds a majority, he has expressed an intention to broaden his political support.
