Matera Jazz Guitar Days festival begins in Sassi di Matera

The Matera Jazz Guitar Days festival has commenced in the Sassi di Matera. The opening day featured a variety of musical and educational activities, including the ‘Il suono del Mediterraneo al mattino’ session with North African percussionist and singer Meissa Ndiaye.

Performances included a duo concert and a set by the Zepla Quartet featuring Fabio Zeppetella and Dino Plasmati at the Scala del Cinema. The festival also hosted the ‘Jazz Playground’ workshop for children aged 0-7, curated by Sara Sarcuni, and a luthiery workshop led by Maestro Vincenzo Santochirico.
