Italy regional security: Law enforcement and infrastructure updates
Various regional developments in Italy highlight ongoing efforts in public safety, law enforcement, and community support. In Calabria, the regional government has allocated over 1.1 million euros for the extraordinary maintenance of buildings used by state forces, including Carabinieri stations in Limbadi, Soriano Calabro, and Zungri. This investment aims to strengthen the presence of the state in the Vibo Valentia area.
In the Crotone province, Interior Undersecretary Wanda Ferro praised the Polizia di Stato for its effective prevention and territory control during the summer season, noting that increased personnel helped manage high tourist volumes. Meanwhile, in San Giuseppe Vesuviano, a joint task force involving the Polizia di Stato, Carabinieri, Guardia di Finanza, and Municipal Police conducted extensive checks, resulting in numerous sanctions and the identification of hundreds of individuals.
Other notable administrative changes include the transfer of high-ranking police officials in Matera and Cesena, and the recognition of investigative excellence by the Carabinieri in Piacenza following a complex inquiry into a death in Tuscany. Additionally, in Benevento, the local administration has provided economic support to the Caritas Diocesana Mensa to assist vulnerable citizens.
