Matera residents report safety risks due to poor greenery maintenance

Citizens in Matera are reporting increasing instances of urban decay and poor maintenance of public greenery, which they claim pose risks to public safety.

Maria Rosaria Scalcione has officially notified the municipal administration regarding a dangerous situation on the Via Trabaci median. Overgrown oleander bushes are reportedly obstructing the view for motorists, complicating turns and lane entries, while also making it difficult for drivers to see pedestrians at crossings. Similar issues regarding unmaintained hedges and vegetation have been noted in other areas, such as Via dei Dauni, potentially compromising road safety.
