Materia implements new weekly community programming

Materia has implemented a new weekly programming schedule designed to foster community engagement and social connection. Following a decision in August to remain open, the venue established themed evenings for every night of the week.

The scheduled activities include ‘Aperi-books & food’ on Mondays, which combines literature and culinary experiences; ‘Aperi-date’ on Tuesdays; card games like Burraco on Wednesdays; ‘Aperi-sketch’ on Thursdays, focusing on illustration and drawing; and music on Fridays.

The initiative has led to organic community growth and unexpected collaborations. For instance, the Monday literary sessions were developed through the connection of library staff Ferdinando Giaquinto and Donata Potito. Similarly, the Thursday sketching sessions emerged from a collaboration with Tiziana Rizza, an illustrator who initially utilized the venue’s coworking spaces.
