Materna and Berlin-based AI company deepset have partnered to advance the use of sovereign artificial intelligence within the public sector and regulated industries. The collaboration combines Materna’s expertise in digitalizing complex administrative and IT landscapes with deepset’s technological framework.

Deepset’s Haystack framework serves as an AI orchestration standard within the Deutschland-Stack. It provides the technical foundation for connecting language models with proprietary knowledge, allowing for the development of sovereign AI applications. This approach ensures that sensitive information is not transferred uncontrollably to external model environments.

The Haystack Enterprise Platform supports the scaling of these applications through developer interfaces, governance tools, and operational controls. This enables authorities and organizations to utilize AI while maintaining control over data, knowledge sources, and operating environments, ensuring compliance with strict data protection and security requirements.
