Mateus Fernandes' Transfer Choice Favors Manchester United Over Real Madrid
West Ham United have set a fee of around £80‑85 million for midfielder Mateus Fernandes after their relegation from the Premier League. Manchester United are in direct talks with the player's representatives and have been reported to have the player’s preference, while Real Madrid are also pursuing him, with former coach Vasco Seabra saying José Mourinho would be an ideal manager for Fernandes. Paris Saint‑Germain have been linked as a possible destination as well.
The Portuguese international, 21, has previously played for Sporting, Southampton and was on loan at Estoril and Arouca, and he is expected to join a Champions League club in the summer.
