Mateus Solano to play farmer in ‘Lá na Minha Terra’

Actor Mateus Solano will portray Almerindo Mourão in the upcoming TV Globo telenovela ‘Lá na Minha Terra’. Set in the Brazilian Northeast, the character is a respected and prosperous farmer who manages the Canto Sereno farm in Lavra Seca.

Almerindo is described as a complex figure: a noble, honest, and patient man who also possesses stubborn and controlling traits. A central plot point involves his long-standing romantic pursuit of Rosenda, played by Dira Paes, a woman still emotionally tied to her missing husband. The story also explores generational conflicts through Almerindo’s relationship with his daughter, Lurdinha, a technology professional living in São Paulo.

Solano noted that the role offers a departure from his previous work, requiring a new visual style and a performance that balances poetic elements with the heightened tone of the genre without veering into caricature.
