Mateusz Gamrot reveals serious nose injury before UFC loss

MMA fighter Mateusz Gamrot has revealed that he suffered a serious nose injury during his preparations for his recent UFC bout in Las Vegas. Three weeks prior to the fight against Quillan Salkilld, Gamrot experienced a fracture of his nose and skin, requiring fifteen total stitches—seven inside and eight on the outside.

Despite the injury, Gamrot chose to proceed with the match. He noted that his training shifted from active preparation to strictly managing the injury to ensure he was cleared to compete. Gamrot stated on Instagram that he does not view the injury as an excuse for the fight's outcome, describing himself as a fighter who does not run from challenges.

The bout against Salkilld ended in a first-round submission loss for Gamrot. Following the loss, Gamrot expressed his intention to move forward and prepare for new challenges.
