Mateusz Morawiecki to visit Janów Lubelski amid PiS internal dispute
Mateusz Morawiecki is scheduled to visit Janów Lubelski on September 21, a region considered a stronghold for Przemysław Czarnek and the Law and Justice (PiS) party. The visit marks an escalation of an internal party dispute that has moved from parliamentary and media debates into local organizational structures.
The conflict intensified following a public disagreement regarding Zondacrypto. After Jarosław Kaczyński criticized Morawiecki’s stance on the cryptocurrency market, Morawiecki responded by referencing a meeting between MP Michał Moskal and Przemysław Kral. In response, Przemysław Czarnek characterized Morawiecki’s actions as “skurczysyństwem niebywałym” (unparalleled pettiness) and spoke of a “total collapse.”
This political friction coincides with the emergence of the Rozwój Plus movement. In Lublin, four councilors elected from PiS lists have formed the Rozwój Plus club, and several hundred people in the Lublin Voivodeship have reportedly expressed interest in joining Morawiecki’s association. The visit to Janów Lubelski will serve as a test of whether Morawiecki can convert his public recognition into a stable local political base.
