Mateusz Szczepaniak hopes former club Ostrovia stays in Metalkas 2. Ekstraliga

Speedway rider Mateusz Szczepaniak, now racing for Dakar Development Stali Rzeszów, said he wishes his hometown team Ostrovia Ostrow Wielkopolski remains in the Metalkas 2. Ekstraliga. The 39‑year‑old, who began his career in Ostrow and later rode for Polonia Pilzno, expressed that every competitor wants to win, but he hopes Ostrovia avoids relegation to the Krajowa Liga Żużlowa. He added that he follows the club’s progress and hopes the league stays in Ostrow.

Szczepaniak’s comments came amid Ostrovia’s mixed results this season, with three wins and nine losses, currently trailing Cellfast Wilki Krosno in the standings.
