Matheus Gonçalves and Matías Viña headline Brazilian transfer news
In recent football transfer developments, Matheus Gonçalves has expressed public frustration with Al-Ahli after the Saudi Arabian club rejected loan proposals from Brazilian sides Botafogo and Vasco. The 21-year-old midfielder, who has played only 38 minutes this season due to foreign player limits, deleted photos of himself with the club on social media and stated on X, “Once again, it’s impossible to understand.” Botafogo had offered a 12 million euro option to buy, while Vasco proposed 10 million euros.
Separately, Cruzeiro has announced the signing of Uruguayan left-back Matías Viña on loan from Flamengo. Viña, who was previously on loan at River Plate, will remain with Cruzeiro until the end of the 2026 season. The deal includes a purchase option valued at approximately 4.5 million USD (R$ 23 million). Flamengo will continue to cover a portion of the player's salary during the loan period.
