Mathew Knowles advocates for breast cancer awareness at Houston gala

The inaugural Pearl’s Pink Promise Gala was held on October 16 at the Omni Hotel in Houston. Hosted by therapist and television personality Dr. Ashley LaRue, the event brought together breast cancer survivors, advocates, and community leaders to raise awareness and promote education regarding the disease.

The gala was established by LaRue to honor the legacy of her grandmother, Pearline, and to provide support for families impacted by breast cancer. During the ceremony, 15 honorees were recognized for their resilience and courage.

Music executive and breast cancer survivor Dr. Mathew Knowles participated in a fireside chat moderated by LaRue. Knowles, who disclosed his diagnosis in 2019, discussed his personal experience and his commitment to advocating for increased awareness of male breast cancer.
