Mathew Ryan signs new deal with Levante for 2026‑27 season

Australian goalkeeper Mathew Ryan, 34, has agreed to remain with Spanish club Levante UD for another season, extending his contract until June 2027. The club confirmed the renewal on Friday, noting that Ryan will join the pre‑season training immediately under head coach Luis Castro.

Ryan featured in 36 LaLiga matches during the 2025/26 campaign, serving as Levante's first‑choice keeper and helping the team retain its top‑flight status. After the World Cup with Australia, he chose to postpone an automatic renewal clause and instead formally re‑signed, providing stability to the squad's defensive line. Levante will now focus on recruiting a new striker following the departure of Carlos Espinal to Real Madrid.
