Mathias Lessort reflects on recovery from major injury

Panathinaikos center Mathias Lessort shared a symbolic message on social media regarding his return to elite basketball performance following a serious injury sustained in December 2024.

In an Instagram post, the French international wrote, “I went through the storm, now we are dancing in the rain. Diamonds shine in the dark, that is why they cannot see my pain.” The statement refers to his recovery process and his recent high-level play in the EuroLeague.

Lessort has been a key contributor to Panathinaikos’s strong start to the season, which includes an 8-2 record. In a recent overtime victory against Real Madrid, he recorded 20 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists.
