Mathis Valin dominates MX2 qualifying at French Grand Prix

France’s Mathis Valin, riding for Kawasaki Racing Team MX2, secured a commanding win in the qualifying race of the FIM World MX2 Motocross Championship at Lacapelle‑Marival. After topping free practice and finishing just behind the leader in timed practice, Valin took an early holeshot, posted the only sub‑1:41 lap, and built a five‑second lead to the finish line. He praised the enthusiastic crowd and the technical track conditions.

In the same session, Kawasaki’s MXGP riders Romain Febvre and Pauls Jonass placed fifth and tenth respectively, while Spanish rider Francisco Garcia made an impressive MX2 GP debut, finishing fifth after starting sixth.

Valin’s victory narrows the gap to the championship leaders, placing him within nine points of third overall.
