Mathura: Elderly woman found dead in suspected homicide

An 85-year-old woman, identified as Suman Chaturvedi, was found dead in her home in the Bengali Ghat area of Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. Her body was discovered on the stairs of an old house in the Chuna Kankar lane near Holi Gate.

According to local reports and police, the victim had been living alone for several years following the death of her husband. The body was found in a pool of blood with visible injuries to her head and face, suggesting she may have been struck with a heavy object. While family members suspect the motive may have been robbery, authorities have not yet confirmed if any items were stolen.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Ashna Chaudhary confirmed that the body has been sent for a post-mortem examination. A forensic team was deployed to the scene to collect evidence, and police are investigating all possible angles to determine the exact cause of death and identify the perpetrators.
