Mathura woman arrested for allegedly killing husband with pestle

Police in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, have arrested a woman, her minor daughter, and the daughter's boyfriend in connection with the alleged murder of Manoj Soni, 42. The suspects are accused of killing Soni because he disapproved of his daughter's relationship with Vimal Chaudhary, a delivery boy.

According to investigators, the suspects allegedly sedated Soni with milk on April 18 and killed him by striking him with an iron pestle or stone. The group reportedly transported the body via scooter to a forest area near Akrur village by the Yamuna river, where they allegedly burned and buried the remains.

While the suspects have been detained, police are currently treating the case as an abduction with intent to murder as they work to recover the body. Efforts to locate the remains have been complicated by rising water levels in the Yamuna and incessant rainfall. Evidence recovered so far includes a scooter, a blanket, and burnt documents and clothing.
