Mathys Tel scores hat-trick for France U21

Mathys Tel scored a hat-trick for the France U21 national team during a 7-1 victory over Switzerland, helping his side finish at the top of their qualifying group. Playing as a central striker, Tel demonstrated clinical finishing and movement that contrasted with his recent club form.

At Tottenham Hotspur, Tel has struggled to find the net since the start of the Premier League season, recording zero goals in six appearances. Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi has previously noted that while the player has big potential, he often makes “too many wrong decisions” in the final third.

This international performance has reignited debate among the Tottenham fanbase. While some remain skeptical of his consistency, others believe his success in a central role for France suggests he could be a valuable asset for De Zerbi if deployed as a primary striker.
