Matia Baržić extends Elche contract as Stipe Biuk leaves Valladolid

Croatian footballer Matia Baržić has extended his contract with the Spanish club Elche until June 2030. The 22-year-old U-21 international defender, who previously gained experience through loans at Eldense and Cultural Leonesi, opted to remain with Elche despite reported interest from Belgian side Mechelen.

In related news, winger Stipe Biuk is departing Real Valladolid after making 48 appearances for the club. Baržić joins Ante Budimir of Osasuna and Luka Sučić of Real Sociedad as Croatian players competing in the Spanish leagues this season.
