Matic introduces Serene vacuum robot with reduced noise levels
US-based manufacturer Matic has unveiled the Matic Serene, its first new robot vacuum model since 2023. The primary focus of this new iteration is noise reduction, achieved through a redesigned suction unit intended to minimize high-frequency whistling caused by fan rotation.
The device aims to operate at a maximum of 52 decibels, which the company describes as being “as quiet as your refrigerator.” This represents a reduction of approximately 10 to 15 dB in high-frequency noise compared to previous models. Despite the quieter operation, the suction power is expected to remain unchanged.
Technically, the Serene utilizes the same navigation system as its predecessor, employing five RGB infrared cameras and artificial intelligence to perform 3D mapping and obstacle avoidance for items such as cables and shoes. The robot is priced at $1,695. Additionally, Matic is offering a hardware upgrade path for existing owners, slated to begin in early 2027.
