Matija Roganović eliminated in European U19 boxing quarterfinals

Montenegrin boxer Matija Roganović was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the European U19 Boxing Championships in Loznica, narrowly missing a medal in the 85kg category. Roganović, representing BK Nikšić, lost to Belarus' Nazar Stalčuk via a unanimous decision.

During the match at the Lagator hall, Roganović struggled to counter Stalčuk’s defensive style. The first round was closely contested, with judges scoring it 4:1 for the Belarusian. Stalčuk maintained his advantage through the subsequent two rounds to secure the victory.

Prior to the quarterfinal, Roganović had reached the stage following dominant performances, including a unanimous decision victory over Italy’s Luca Kasarsa and a third-round stoppage against Ukraine’s David Kurski. Montenegro's national team coach, Boško Drašković, praised Roganović’s bravery and skill, noting that the experience would be invaluable for the boxer’s future.
