Matija Roganović reaches U19 World Boxing Championship quarterfinals

Montenegrin boxer Matija Roganović, representing BK Nikšić, concluded his participation in the U19 World Boxing Championship in Budva after a quarterfinal loss in the 85kg category. Roganović was defeated by Cuba's Julio Chibas with a judges' decision of 4:1.

The match at the Mediterranean Sports Center was highly competitive. While the first round was closely contested, with Chibas earning a narrow 3:2 advantage, the second round proved decisive as the Cuban boxer established his rhythm to win all five judges' scores. Despite a strong offensive surge by Roganović in the final three minutes, the deficit was too large to overcome.

Coach Boško Drašković praised Roganović’s performance, stating he showed the heart of a champion by fighting without hesitation against a representative of a premier boxing school. Drašković noted that while the second round cost him a better result, the experience gained at this level is invaluable for the future of Montenegrin boxing.
