Matiks raises $10 million in pre-Series A funding

Indian gaming startup Matiks has secured $10 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by General Catalyst. The investment round included participation from entrepreneur Ronnie Screwvala, alongside existing investors InfoEdge Ventures, Tanglin Venture Partners, and Untitled Ventures. Total funding for the company now exceeds $13.5 million.

Founded in 2024, Matiks provides a social gaming platform featuring competitive math, puzzle, memory, and logic games. The company reported significant user growth, reaching 2.2 million monthly active users and over 300,000 daily active users by September.

The new capital is intended to support global expansion and the development of an AI-powered game-creation engine, which will allow users to build and publish their own brain games without coding. While the primary user base is currently in India, the company is targeting expansion into markets including the United States, South Korea, and Japan.
