Matiks secures $10 million in pre-Series A funding

Indian gaming platform Matiks has raised $10 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by General Catalyst. The investment brings the company’s total funding to over $13.5 million. Existing investors, including Ronnie Screwvala, InfoEdge Ventures, Tanglin Venture Partners, and Untitled Ventures, also participated in the round.

Matiks focuses on brain-training games, including categories such as mathematics, puzzles, memory, and logic. The platform has seen significant user growth in 2024, with daily active users rising from 22,000 at the start of the year to 300,000 in September, and monthly active users reaching 2.2 million.

The company is currently testing a subscription model that offers game analysis, tips, and additional practice features, alongside targeted in-app purchases. While its primary user base is in India, Matiks has users in the US, South Korea, and Japan, and plans to localize its services for the South Korean and Japanese markets.
