Matěj Janoušek premieres first original musical in Liberec

Matěj Janoušek, a native of Liberec, has written and directed his first original musical for the student ensemble First Smile. The project began as a planned jukebox musical but evolved into an authorial work that combines the group's own songs with a few covers.

The musical tells the intertwined stories of three protagonists—Lara, an aspiring singer; Michal, a dancer pressured by his father to become a doctor; and Eliáš, who is navigating a coming‑out process. Their journeys explore personal dreams, obstacles, and the search for identity. The production will be staged on 7 August at the Lidové sady park in Liberec, the location where the project originated.
